CROATIA & SLOVENIA 2027
6th to 30th September 2027
Our Croatia and Slovenia Tour takes place at the end of the season to avoid the summer crowds. In addition to the two capitals, Zagreb and Ljubljana, the tour encompasses the beautiful Istrian coast in Northern Croatia along with the spectacular Plitvice Lakes and various historical sites including the Pula Amphitheatre. With the Adriatic to the south west and The Alps in the North, Slovenia is a country of rich contrasts. The tour allows the opportunity to visit the UNESCO-listed Postjama Caves, Lake Bled, The Vintgar Gorge and Triglac National Parks and the castles at Bled and Predjama. Our route takes us down and back through France, Germany and Austria.

DAY - TO -DAY ITINERARY
Night before: We stay on a campsite close to Dover where we provide a full briefing for the tour and advice on motorhoming on the continent in general. This is a complimentary night and you are welcome to join us at no additional cost.
Days 1 - 4: Our route takes us through France, Germany and Austria with overnight stops in the Champagne region, another close to the Black Forest on the French/ German border, another in Bavaria and a stopover in the Austrian Alps.
Days 5 - 7: On Day 5 we head out of the Austrian Alps and down to Lake Bled in Slovenia. We spend two full days around the lake nestled at the foot of the Julian Alps. In addition to the lake itself, other attractions in the area include Bled Castle, the Triglav National Park, Vintgar Gorge and the Savica Waterfall.
Days 8 - 10: We take a relatively short drive today to the outskirts of the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, where we spend the next three nights. In addition to visiting the city, we also have the opportunity to visit the Postonja Caves and/or Skocjan Caves, which boast the deepest underground canyons in the world. A few miles away is Predjama Castle built into the mouth of the cave system.
Days 11 - 13: We have a complete change of scenery as we head onto the Istrian coastline in Croatia, close to the town of Pula. The Adriatic Coast is the star of the show over the next few days along with Roman remains including a complete Amphitheatre at Pula.
Days 14 - 16: We move east following the dramatic coastline of the Adriatic round to Krk Island, characterised by beautiful stretches of rocky beaches and clear blue seas.
Days 17 - 18: We head inland today with our destination being the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Our schedule allows for one full day in the park, which covers nearly 300 square kilometres and is home to hundreds of turquoise lakes teaming with fish and dozens of dramatic waterfalls.
Days 19 - 20: The tour changes pace again today as we head for the Croatian capital, Zagreb. The city nestles on the Sava river on the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountains. With history dating back to Roman times, the city is a mixture of architectural styles over the centuries and is also a lively modern capital.
Days 21 - 24: We start the journey home on Day 21 with a driving day back up through Slovenia and into Austria where we will have an overnight stop in the Alps. There are further stopovers in Germany and France before our penultimate night in the Champagne region.
Day 25: We head for Calais and our scheduled afternoon crossing, or you may choose to extend your stay and take advantage of your flexible return ticket.
