LAKE GARDA & VENICE 2027
8th to 25th September 2027
Enjoy beautiful Lake Garda and Venice out of high season, but while the weather is still warm, with this classic Autumn tour. Lake Garda is Italy’s largest lake and in addition to the attractions and resorts around the lake, some of Italy’s most beautiful cities are just a short drive or train ride away. We spend time on the south and north shores of the lake, giving you the opportunity to explore the surrounding towns and cities, including Venice, Verona and Vicenza. Our route is an 'out-and-back' via the Mont Blanc tunnel with stop-overs in the French/Italian Alps.

DAY - TO -DAY ITINERARY
Night before: We stay on a campsite close to Dover where we provide a full briefing for the tour and advice on motorhoming on the continent in general. This is a complimentary night and you are welcome to join us at no additional cost.
Days 1 - 2: We meet at Dover for our scheduled morning ferry crossing. Over the next two days we will make our way south-east through France with overnight stops in the Champagne and Burgundy regions.
Days 3 - 4: Today we head for the Alps heading for the world-famous Mont Blanc. We will spend two days here allowing for time to visit the mountain by cog railway/ cable car (weather permitting) or you can relax in the local Alpine towns.
Days 5 - 9: We will spend the next five nights on our campsite on the southern shores of Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake. In addition to the attractions around the lake there are many cities and towns to explore using the local boat and bus services or the cheap and efficient rail network, all of which are accessed within walking distance of the campsite. The larger cities of Verona, Vicenza, Milan, Padua and Mantua are all just a train ride or drive away. Venice itself is accessible within an hour and a half by train.
Days 10 - 13: We head to the north of Lake Garda, where we will spend four nights. This area is typically a little less ‘touristy’ than the south, with quaint towns and dramatic cliff edges provided by the Dolomite mountain range. You can access the lakeside towns using the local boat service including Limone and Malcesine, from where you can take the cable car up Monte Baldo.
Day 14: We start our journey travelling along the Aosta Valley in Italy and back towards Mont Blanc. We have a stop-over in the French/Italian Alps.
Days 15 - 16: We head back up through France breaking up the journey with a two-night stop-over in the Burgundy region. Our schedule allows for a full day in either the city of Chalons-sur-Saone, knows as the wine capital of the region, or the walled town of Beaune famed for its cobbled streets and Mediaeval buildings.
Day 17: We continue our journey north through wide open countryside onto our final destination in the heart of the Champagne region.
Day 18: We head for Calais and our scheduled afternoon crossing, or you may choose to extend your stay and take advantage of your flexible return ticket.
